Melbourne Stars: Joe Clarke and Tom Rogers Test Covid Positive

Melbourne Stars squad Joe Clarke and Tom Rogers have tested COVID positive ahead of the BBL 2021-22 Melbourne Derby at the MCG.

The BBL 2021-22 is Under Fear :-

BBL 2021-22 is under a covid scare, and the Melbourne Stars are the focus. The Perth Scorchers vs Melbourne Stars game was previously blocked, but the reverse fixture was played on 2 January 2022.

Earlier, a total of 15 positive subjects were found in the Melbourne Stars camp, but now there are two more subjects in the camp. Nine players of Stars are positive, while there are also eight staff members.

In addition to Melbourne Stars, Sydney Thunder also has four COVID positive subjects. The Perth Scorchers also missed out on Nick Hobson and Matthew Kelly in the last game due to Covid.

In the Australian national team as well, Travis Head has tested positive and was ruled out of the Sydney Test. Australia has included Nick Maddinson, Mitchell Marsh, and Josh Inglis in the squad as cover.

BBL 2021-22: Melbourne Stars squad for Melbourne Renegades game. The Melbourne Stars made four debuts against the Perth Scorchers at Junction Oval. Tonight they will face the Melbourne Renegades at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The Struggle To Find A Replacement :-

The team is already battling to find a replacement, and now two more players have tested positive. Joe Clarke and Tom Rogers, who both opened against Perth, have now tested positive. Joe Clarke has scored three half-centuries in the last three matches and it will be hard to make up for his lack.

However, apart from all subjects, the Melbourne derby will proceed as per the schedule at the MCG. Melbourne Stars players won’t have the reputation to celebrate together, while they also can’t get close to Renegades players.

When batting, Thunder players cannot sit together in groups of more than three players. These steps will be taken to avoid the calamity of large-scale outbreaks.

Ahead of the derby, the Stars have included Travis Dean as a local replacement, while Ahmed Daniyal has also been included in the squad.
