Neil Wagner continued to put Bangladesh under pressure. And provided the prize at 152 for 5 at tea on the third day. Bangladesh is still trailing by 243 runs. As Wagner took three wickets to determine whether New Zealand can entertain their hopes of a three-day finish.
Opening the session at 74 for 2, Mominul Haque. And Mohammad Naeem took the team past 100 before being dismissed later by Tim Southee.

Nayeem went for a drive for a delivery outside off and Latham pulled a stunner to his left in the second slip diving to end Nami’s 98-ball stay. From there, Neil Wagner took the curb and closed the door to visitors.
The pacer stuck to his prowess to bowl the short ball but deceived Mominul Haque with a full ball, which the Bangladesh captain should have ideally left alone.
Mominul went after the ball in search of runs and was caught by Ross Taylor at first slip. Yasir Ali was dismissed for just two runs as Bangladesh was reduced to 128 for 5 in the 47th over.
The second convention was in a way the exact opposite of what happened at the initial convention. Before lunch, Bangladesh’s batsmen eased into the conditions and the batting became a bit smoother.
Shadman Islam and Shanto played 13.5 overs to get the team off to a good start. Islam has strangled off a delivery from Kyle Jamieson as the opener was disappointed to see a leg-side delivery tucked into the fine leg fence.
Jamieson could have picked up Shanto soon after the opening break but the opener was dropped at second slip by Daryl Mitchell. The outside edge was flying straight at the second slip but Mitchell took his hand out of position at the third slip and grabbed the opportunity.
The pair quickly grew in self-confidence and Shanto also took on Neil Wagner and hit the pacer for a six and a four in the 23rd over and then followed it up with a series of fours in the 25th over.
Wagner, however, was capable of breaking through with less than five minutes into the convention. Shanto fell into the net and pulled a short ball straight to Trent Boult at long leg to end a hopeful inning.

Mominul Haque could have been run out on the first ball as he went after a non-existent run to avoid a pair, but the hosts missed the opportunity to get the third wicket in the session.
Brief Scores Team:– New Zealand 521/6 dec (Tom Latham 252, Devon Conway 109, and Shorful Islam 2-79) beat Bangladesh by 243 runs by 126 (Trent Boult 5-43) and 152/5 (Neil Wagner 3-58) carried forward.
