New Zealand’s Anna Peterson retires from international cricket

New Zealand all-rounder Anna Peterson retired from international cricket, on Tuesday (October 5) supported New Zealand cricket. Peterson, who turned 31 last month, represented her country 64 times in international cricket.

Anna Peterson said, “I have loved every minute of playing for the White Ferns and representing New Zealand.” “Many thanks to my family, friends, coaches, teammates, and everyone who has supported me throughout my international career.

The White Ferns have a special team civilization and I’ve been blessed to make some lifelong connections in the team. While I have also enjoyed meeting and competing with players from all over the world.”

In addition to leaving the international circuit at the age of 31, Peterson will continue to play domestic cricket where she will represent Auckland Hearts. She will also serve as the Rugby Manager for Women and Girls at North Harbor Rugby.

Anna made an ODI debut against England almost a decade ago. And made a sudden impact by scoring 33 runs down the order. Her last appearance for the national team came against eventual champions Australia in the T20 World Cup last year.

The 31-year-old’s most memorable performance came in 2017 when she became the first woman cricketer from New Zealand to take a hat-trick in T20Is.
