Fletcher is Canterbury’s leading run-scorer in the ongoing Plunkett Shield with 344 runs from four matches. Tickner has taken 14 wickets in four matches in the current season. This is Fletcher’s first international call-up, while Tickner has appeared for New Zealand in eight T20Is since his debut in 2019.
Kane Williamson, just recovering from an elbow injury, will be ruled out of the two-match series.
Rutherford has returned to the Test team-
Rutherford has returned to the Test team for the first time in seven years. He played his last match against Sri Lanka in Wellington in 2015. He has scored 371 runs in four matches for Otago this season. And who was also the second-highest run-scorer in the last season with 588 runs in eight matches? The 32-year-old has played 16 Tests so far since his debut in 2013. In which he has scored 755 runs with the highest score of 171.
