Lahore: Former Pakistan fast bowler and Lahore Qalandars coach in PSL Aqib Javed has blamed the workload for Shaheen Afridi’s injury. During the first Test match played in Galle against Sri Lanka, Shaheen injured his right knee while fielding. Since then, he has been trying to recover from the injury off the field.
On Saturday, the PCB’s medical team and independent experts have advised Shaheen Afridi to rest for four to six weeks. In such a situation, he was ruled out of the upcoming Asia Cup. The decision has been taken after assessing the report of his recent knee scan. This is being considered a big setback for the Pakistani team.

Aqib Javed advised the team management to act with restraint
On the issue of Shaheen’s exclusion from the Asia Cup, Aqib Javed, while giving his opinion, advised the team management to keep restraint on this issue and said, it may be because of the workload. Shaheen is playing cricket continuously. There is no doubt that this is a big loss for Pakistan in view of the Asia Cup. The team will definitely miss him. Aqib Javed further said, the team management should act with restraint in this matter. In such a situation, Shaheen should be allowed to fully recover from the injury without panic. He has a long career ahead of him.
