Records: Many unique records made in the third test match played between India and England

Yashasvi Jaiswal ‘s second consecutive double century, excellent performance by Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel and all-round skills of Ravindra Jadeja helped India register its biggest win over England. Yes, India has registered a historic victory by defeating England by 434 runs in the third Test played in Rajkot and with this, India has now reached second place after New Zealand in the World Test Championship (WTC).

In this match, great performances were seen from both India and England camps, due to which many unique records were made in this match. So let us know about all of them one by one –

No. 1: This is England’s second biggest defeat in Tests after the 562-run defeat against Australia at the Oval in 1934 in which England lost the match to India by a huge margin of 434 runs.

No. 2:- 48 sixes hit by India in the first three matches are the most number of sixes hit by any team in any series in the history of Test cricket.

Number 3:- 12 sixes hit by Yashasvi Jaiswal are the joint highest number of sixes hit by any batsman in a Test innings. Earlier in 1996, Pakistan’s Wasim Akram had also hit 12 sixes against Zimbabwe.

Number 4:- After Vinod Kambli and Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal became the third Indian batsman and 11th overall in the world to score double centuries in two consecutive Tests. Jaiswal scored 209 runs in the first innings of the second Test against England and scored an unbeaten 214 runs in the second innings of the third Test.

No.5:- Yashasvi Jaiswal has now converted each of his first three Test centuries into 150+ scores – 171, 209 and 214*. He became the first Indian and seventh player overall to achieve the feat after Javed Miandad, Andrew Jones, Brian Lara, Mahela Jayawardene, Matthew Sinclair and Graeme Smith.

Number 6:- Jaiswal is the third youngest batsman to score a double century in the second innings of a Test match at the age of 22 years and 52 days. In the case, the name of George Headley at number one with the age of 20 years 315 days and Sunil Gavaskar at number two with the age of 21 years 283 days are included.

Number 7:- The 545 runs scored by Yashasvi Jaiswal so far in this Test series are the most runs scored by an Indian left-handed batsman in a Test series. The 534 runs scored by Sourav Ganguly in the Test series against Pakistan in 2007 is now second in this matter. Jaiswal is also only the second Indian batsman after Sunil Gavaskar to score 500+ runs in a series before turning 23.

Number 8 :- Sarfaraz Khan has become the fourth Indian batsman after Dilawar Hussain, Sunil Gavaskar and Sunil Gavaskar to score 50+ in both innings of the debut test match.
