Rishabh Pant will be shifted to Mumbai for further treatment

Star India batsman Rishabh Pant will be shifted from a hospital in Dehradun to a hospital in Mumbai where he will undergo comprehensive treatment for knee and ankle injuries. BCCI sources said on Wednesday.

A senior BCCI source told PTI on conditions of anonymity –

“Rishabh is being shifted to Mumbai for diagnosis and treatment of his ligament injury and further course of action will be decided. He is expected to remain under the supervision of renowned sports orthopedic Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala empaneled by BCCI. If there is advice for surgery, a call will be taken if it will happen in the UK or USA.”

Rishabh Pant narrowly escaped a horrific car accident when he was traveling from Delhi to his hometown Roorkee, but lost control on the NH-58 highway and crashed into the divider.

Treatment of Rishabh Pant’s injury was the prerogative of the board –

Pant had bruises on his forehead, a serious back injury as well as injuries to his knee and ankle. While most of the injuries are superficial, the worrisome factor would be ankle and knee as he was treated at Max, Dehradun.

However, being a centrally contracted BCCI cricketer, his injury treatment was the board’s prerogative.
