IND vs AUS Rohit Sharma Shreyas Iyer: Following their win in the Asia Cup 2023, India captain Rohit Sharma on Sunday revealed that batsman Shreyas Iyer is close to full fitness, calling him “99 percent” match-ready. However, Axar Patel will be absent from the first two ODIs (IND vs AUS ODI) against Australia later this month. Iyer was seen in only one match of the Asia Cup. Even though Iyer missed a major part of the Asia Cup, he has accomplished most of the targets set for him by the team management.

Shreyas Iyer “99 percent” ready for the match

Rohit said in the post-match press conference, “Shreyas was not available for this match (final) because certain parameters were kept for him. Today, he has accomplished most of these. I would say 99% of the time he will be fine right now, today before we came he batted, and he fielded for a long time, so he is looking good at the moment. I don’t think it’s a matter of concern for us.”

Washington Sundar replaced Akshar during the last Super 4 match

Axar was forced to withdraw from the final match after injuring his left quadriceps during India’s final Super 4 match against Bangladesh on Friday. Washington Sundar, who was brought in from Bengaluru a day earlier, took his place in the starting lineup.

After bowling out Sri Lanka for 50 runs in the Asia Cup final, Indian captain Rohit Sharma said that such a performance by the fast bowlers gives him great satisfaction.
