Rohit Sharma is going to return to T20I cricket after a long gap of 14 months. He will be seen playing in the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan starting from January 11. During this time, Rohit Sharma’s eyes will be on creating history for India.

Rohit Sharma will create history as soon as he scores 44 runs :-

In fact, as soon as Rohit Sharma scores 44 runs in the T20I series against Afghanistan, he will become India’s highest run-scoring T20I captain. Till now this record is registered in the name of Virat Kohli. Virat has scored 1570 runs in 50 matches, while Rohit Sharma has scored 1552 runs in 51 matches.

The third name in the list is that of MS Dhoni, who has scored 1112 runs as captain for India in T20I cricket. Apart from this, there is no other Indian captain in the top 30, because not many players have captained in T20I for a long time.

Whereas, if we talk about double century of sixes, then Rohit Sharma needs 18 sixes to reach 200 sixes in T20 International cricket. It doesn’t seem possible in this series, but cricket is a game of uncertainties so nothing is impossible.

However, one thing is certain that Rohit Sharma can reach this achievement if not in this series, then the next time he plays in the T20 World Cup 2024. Rohit will be the only batsman who has hit 200 or more sixes in T20I cricket. He still sits at the top of this list.
