New Delhi, Sports Desk. Captain Temba Bavuma (109) scored a century as South Africa beat England by five wickets with five balls to spare in the second ODI on Sunday. In the match played at Bloemfontein, England scored 342/7 in 50 overs by batting first. In response, the Proteas team achieved the target by losing five wickets in 49.1 overs.
With this, South Africa took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Let us tell you that the hosts won the first ODI by 27 runs. Now the third and final ODI between the two countries will be in Kimberly on 3 February.

Chasing the target of 343 runs, Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock (31) got South Africa off to a great start with a 77-run partnership. Olly Stone broke the partnership by getting Cock caught out by Duckett. From here Bavuma got the support of Rasi van der Dussen (38). Both shared a 97-run partnership for the second wicket. During this Bavuma completed his century. Sam Karan broke this partnership by bowling Bavuma. The Proteas captain scored 109 runs in 102 balls with the help of 14 fours and a six.

Soon Rashid gave the third blow to the hosts by getting Dussain out caught by Ali. Heinrich Klaasen (27) caught by Stone at the hands of Butler. Aiden Markram (49) missed out on completing his half-century. He clean bowled by Rashid. From here David Miller (58) and Marco Jansen (32) put on an unbeaten 65-run partnership for the sixth wicket to give South Africa victory. Miller scored an unbeaten 58 in 37 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes.
Jansen scored an unbeaten 32 in 29 balls with the help of a four and a six. Oli Stone and Adil Rashid got two wickets each from England. One wicket came in Sam Karan’s account.

David Malan (12) was given a second blow to England by Wayne Parnell out LBW. Ben Duckett (20) was made to walk by Maharaj.
