Uncapped Pakistani batsman Saud Shakeel has been ruled out from the ODIs in South Africa tour due to a leg injury during a practice match in Lahore
Saud Shakeel is also part of the two-test team against Zimbabwe, he will now return to the National High-Performance Center to complete his rehabilitation. If he regains fitness on time, he will travel to Harare along with the other 10 members of the Test team on 12 April.
The selection committee, in consultation with the team management, has appointed Asif Ali in place of Saud Shakeel, who is already part of the T20I squad for the series in South Africa tour and Zimbabwe tour.
Asif Ali already traveled to South Africa with the Pakistan team, but only as part of the T20I. His inclusion in ODIs against South Africa gives him another chance to impress in this format where he has never make a place since making his debut in 2018 and the last played on 12 June 2019 against Australia.
34 men squad, including 13 officials and 21 players will depart for Johannesburg on a chartered flight on 26 March.
Pakistan and South Africa will play three T20I and three ODIs, the series will be started from 02 April
in the previous series between both, the teams for two tests and three T20Is Pakistan won both of the series Test and T20Is.
