Brisbane Heat defeated Melbourne Renegades by 7 wickets in the knockout match of the 12th season of Big Bash League. Playing first, the team of Melbourne Renegades scored 162/5 in 20 overs, in reply Brisbane Heat’s team scored 164/3 with seven balls to spare. Heat bowler Xavier Bartlett named player of the match for his impressive bowling performance (3/11).

Chasing the target, Brisbane Heat got off to a tremendous start. The pair of Usman Khawaja and Matt Brown added 75 runs in 8.5 overs for the first wicket. Brown played an inning of 39 runs in 27 balls. Khawaja played a half-century innings and was dismissed for 122 after scoring 59 runs. Marnus Labushen also scored 23 runs. Matt Renshaw scored 27 and Sam Hahn scored 8 not out to give victory to his team.

To reach the final, Brisbane Heat will face Sydney Sixers in a challenger match. The match will be played on February 2 and the winning team will face Perth Scorchers, who have already reached the final.
