The Former West Indies batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul has been named the head coach of Jamaica Tallawahs for the 2022 edition of the Caribbean Premier League.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul will replace Floyd Reifer, who has left the role after being made the head coach of the West Indies U-19 team. Also, the franchise has named Sir Curtly Ambrose as the bowling coach.

Shivnarine, who led West Indies in 164 Tests, 264 ODIs, and 22 T20Is, scored over 20,000 international runs.
Franchise owner Krishna Persaud said, “Shivnarine has had a phenomenal playing career and is one of the greats of the game. He has served West Indies cricket, and I know he will take Jamaica Tallawahs to new heights.”
“Sir Curtley brings a lot of technical expertise and feels to the Tallawahs and we are determined to have him on the team.”
Ambrose has served as the bowling coach with West Indies during the 2016 T20 World Cup in India. West Indies won the title by defeating England in a thrilling contest in Kolkata. In the last year, Ambrose has been working with the young bowlers of the U-19 team.
Shivnarine, 47, guided the West Indies in 164 Tests, 264 ODIs, and 22 T20Is, scoring over 20,000 international runs in an international career that began in 1994 and ended in 2015. He replaces Floyd Reifer, who stepped down after taking office. Head coach of West Indies Under-19 team.
Curtly Ambrose, 58, has taken 405 wickets in Tests and 225 wickets in ODIs in an international career spanning 274 matches over 12 years, from 1988 to 2000. He had spells as West Indies bowling coach – he was in the background when the team won.

T20 World Cup in 2016 – as well as in CPL (for three years with Guyana Amazon Warriors). He also spent three years in Caribbean regional cricket as an assistant coach for United Broadcasting and Colleges. He is adept to level 3 standard.
Andre Coley will serve as the assistant coach of the Jamaica Tallawahs. He was part of the inaugural organization team at the High-Performance Center Program in Barbados from 2010–2013.
The Jamaica Tallawahs finished fifth in the 2021 edition of the six-team CPL, having won just four of their ten matches.
