India opener Shubman Gill on Tuesday congratulated former India batsman Suresh Raina for his invaluable contribution to the game of cricket. Gill’s remarks came after Raina announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on Tuesday.

Gill shared a post on the Ku app, saying that Suresh Raina’s contribution to cricket is priceless and wished him all the best for his second innings. “Your contribution to the game of cricket is invaluable. Best wishes for your second innings,” Gill said on the Ku app.

Four years ago, Suresh Raina had praised Gill for his explosive knock in the semi-finals of the Under-19 World Cup. In 2020, Suresh Raina retired from international cricket after confirming MS Dhoni’s retirement.

The left-handed batsman represented India in over 300 international matches in a career spanning over 13 years. The stylish batsman made his international debut in 2005 against Sri Lanka. He scored 5615 runs in 226 ODI matches. Suresh Raina will now play for Indian Legends in the second season of the Road Safety World Series.
