Sri Lankan all-Rounder Ishani Loksuriyage Retires at the Age of 37

All-rounder Ishani Loksuriyage, who played a key role in perhaps Sri Lanka’s biggest ODI win ever. He has retired from international cricket at the age of 37. In a video on Facebook, he said that the leg injury prompted him to make the decision.

Ishani Loksuriyage said, ‘I have decided to retire from international cricket. “However, I will continue to play for my club side – Navy. I would like to use this opportunity to thank the fans who have been with me since 2013. Please continue to support me, as I am still a club I will be a cricketer.

Ishani Loksuriyage Played 89 ODIs and 68 T20 Internationals

A right-handed batsman and right-arm seamer, who made his international debut in 2005. Ishani Loksuriyage played 89 ODIs and 68 T20 Internationals. It is for his heroism during the 2013 World ODI Cup, however, for which he will be remembered the most. After taking 2 for 49 against England after opening the bowling, Loksuriyaz scored 56 off 41 to revive Sri Lanka’s chase (their target was 239). She last played for Sri Lanka in 2018. There has been no international match for the Sri Lanka women’s team since the beginning of 2020 to be eligible for Loksuriyas.
