Dubai: Team India suffered a crushing 7-wicket defeat at the hands of England in the rescheduled fifth and final Test at Edgbaston. Apart from this, Team India was fined 2 points and 40 percent of the match fee for slow over rate. With this, Team India has slipped to the fourth place in the World Test Championship points table. The Indian team missed the historic chance of winning the Test series in England after 2007.

However, when India’s two points were deducted, Pakistan got the advantage and got the third place, leaving India behind. India has 75 points (52.08 points percentage) after penalty, while Pakistan’s points percentage is 52.38. Pakistan lost 1-0 at home to Australia. Babar Azam-led Pakistan will have a great chance to build a bigger lead over India. Pakistan team will play a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in July.
