The Hundred, Will Smeed: In the second season of The Hundred tournament in England, 20-year-old Will Smeed has created history. This player has become the first player to touch the 100-run mark in this tournament.

The Hundred: This feat was done while playing from Birmingham Phoenix :-

Playing for Birmingham Phoenix, Smeed achieved this feat against the Southern Braves on Thursday. In this unbeaten innings of 101 runs in 50 balls, Smeed hit 8 fours and 6 sixes. During this his strike rate was 202. Birmingham Phoenix registered a massive 53-run victory on the basis of Samid’s scintillating innings.

Southern Brave won the toss and elected to bowl first in this match. On the very first ball of the match, Will Smeed proved this decision of the team wrong. Opening the batting with Chris Benjamin (17), Sameed hit a boundary off George Garten in the first ball of the match. He was seen in aggressive form from the beginning of the innings.

Will Smeed completed his century on the 99th ball of the innings :-

While Smeed completed his half-century in 25 balls, he faced 49 balls to reach 100 runs. On the 99th ball of the innings, Smeed needed one run to complete his century.

He stole two runs off Jordan’s delivery towards extra cover and completed his century. With this, he became the first player to score 100 runs in The Hundred tournament, creating history.

Southern Brave piled up after scoring 123 runs in 85 balls :-

Birmingham Phoenix managed to reach the score of 176 for the loss of 4 wickets in 100 balls on the basis of this wonderful innings of Smeed . In response, the Southern Brave bundled out after scoring 123 runs in 85 balls.
