Before the third Test match of India vs Australia. There is a lot of talk about whether Team India will change the playing-11 or not, most of the talk is about out-of-form KL Rahul. After the second Test, when the team was selected for the last two matches, he was given a place. It was believed that Rahul would be out this time, but the selectors and team management have reposed faith in him. However, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh feels that he will be dropped from the playing-11.

Know what Harbhajan said –

Harbhajan has predicted that young batsman Shubman Gill will open in place of Rahul in the third Test. In fact, no one has been made vice-captain in the team selected for the third and fourth tests. Rahul has been kept in the team, but due to poor form, he has been stripped of the vice-captaincy. In such a situation, Harbhajan feels that he can be dropped from the playing-11 in the third Test as well.

When Harbhajan was asked in an interview if Rahul could be dropped, he said – “Yeah, I think so, because when you are not the vice-captain, it becomes easier for the management to drop you. Once you become the vice-captain, it doesn’t matter what kind of performance you have, you are then included in the eleven players who will participate in the match.”

Harbhajan said –

“With KL Rahul you know he is a player with potential. Going through bad form right now. He is not scoring runs. I am sure he will do well with the bat, but with the vice-captaincy not available to him, we can see Shubman Gill opening alongside Rohit Sharma.”
