The World Cup 2023 final played at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad created a unique record. The final match on 19 November was watched by 300 million people on TV, becoming the most watched event of any kind in Indian television history. BCCI Secretary Jai Shah gave this information by sharing a post on social media.

It is noteworthy that the ICC World Cup was hosted by India. The Indian team lost to Australia in the final match. In the final match, the Kangaroo team won the World Cup title for the sixth time by defeating the team by six wickets. With this defeat, India’s dream of winning the World Cup for the third time was shattered. However, the final match created a unique record.

Jai Shah gave information on social media :-

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah told on X handle that 30 crore people watched the final match on TV. He reported that it became the most watched program of any kind in Indian television history. Apart from this, Jay Shah said that the peak TV concurrency also reached a historic high of 13 crores.

Jay Shah wrote on Twitter, 30 crore fans watched the Cricket World Cup final on TV. It became the most watched program of any kind in Indian television history. Peak TV concurrency also reached a historic high of 130 million (peak digital concurrency was 59 million, also a world record). We are once again overwhelmed by the love and passion that Indian fans have for our game. Thanks to everyone who supported the game.
