Deepti from Andhra Pradesh made her debut for the Indian team alongside Smriti Mandhana, but her career did not take off. She made her debut for the Indian team in 2013 against Bangladesh. Deepti was dropped from the national team after just three international matches (two Women’s T20 Internationals and one Women’s ODI). However, he continued to represent the state team and last played for the state in November 2021.
Delhi Capitals Showed a New Path
Meanwhile, when the Women’s Premier League auction was announced, Sneha Deepti decided to register her name. Delhi Capitals bought 26-year-old Sneha for Rs 30 lakh. Deepti, mother of two-year-old daughter Kriva, is back to training with the Delhi franchise and is looking forward to the Women’s Premier League starting March 4.

How Difficult it Was to Leave the Daughter and Join the WPL Camp
Delhi Capitals TV posted an emotional video of Deepti, in which the 26-year-old cricketer spoke about how difficult it was to leave behind her daughter and join the WPL camp. He said, ‘When I was leaving the team hotel in Mumbai, daughter Kriva started crying loudly. Then I thought should I go or not? Cricket and family are both important to me. Career is also very important, so I felt that I must go because I have come so far.
Deepti further said, ‘I have to fully enjoy the game. I know that if I succeed in the WPL, I have a chance to be successful and be an inspiration to other people or a role model for other players. I want people to say – if she can do it, we can too. Before leaving for the camp in Mumbai, Dipti assured her husband that he would take care of their daughter.
Husband Supported
Sneha said, ‘It was very difficult for me, but my husband said that you go ahead, I will take care of the daughter.’ Five minutes after leaving the hotel in Mumbai, Dipti called her husband to inquire about the well-being of daughter Kriva. But what Deepti heard from her daughter melted her heart.
Sneha told, ‘I called Kriva after five minutes and she was smiling. In Telugu he said ‘baga aadu’, which means play well there. Deepti may not have got the big money like Mandhana, but she is happy to return to the cricket field.
