The second match of the three ODI series between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh was played at Harare Sports Club. The hosts won this match by 5 wickets on the back of centuries from Sikandar Raja and Regis Chakabwa. With this, Zimbabwe took an unassailable 2-1 lead in the series after winning the first two matches. Bangladesh, batting first, had set a target of 291 runs for victory in front of Zimbabwe, which they achieved with 15 balls to spare. The third match of the series is to be played at this ground from August 10.

Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bowl first in the second ODI. In this match for Bangladesh, in addition to captain Tamim Iqbal (50), Mahmudullah (80 *) played half-centuries, while Shanto (38) and Asif Hossain (41) were successful in crossing the 30-run mark. On the basis of this performance of the batsmen, Bangladesh managed to score 290 runs for the loss of 9 wickets on the board in the stipulated 50 overs.
