Former opener Wasim Jaffer has given his opinion about which two bowlers should bowl with the new ball for India in the second T20 match against New Zealand (IND vs NZ). According to Jaffer, skipper Hardik Pandya should continue to bowl with the new ball and have Shivam Mavi as his partner.

Has given wickets to India in the beginning

Pandya has recently been impressive with the new ball in limited-overs cricket, getting India wickets early on. Hardik dismissed Finn Allen in the first over of the third ODI against New Zealand, but the right-handed batsman batted against him in the first T20I.

Hardik Pandya and Shivam Mavi are better options

I think Hardik Pandya and Shivam Mavi are better options. Pandya bowls well with the new ball, although he was a bit expensive in the last match. But you expect a good comeback from him and it would be better if he bowls two-three overs. Pandya can bowl one over with the new ball and Arshdeep Singh can come after that. Arshdeep can bowl in the middle overs and can come back in the death overs. So I think one over from Arshdeep in the powerplay and two overs in the death overs.

All India’s fast bowlers proved to be expensive in the last match. The spin bowlers had made an impact but the fast bowlers were thrashed. The Indian team had lost the match played in Ranchi and they will be under pressure to perform well today. It has to be seen how the team performs in Lucknow.
