Australia 2023 WPL auction: Australia’s full 15-player T20 World Cup squad features in a list of 28 Australian players who will go under the hammer in this month’s inaugural Women’s Premier League auction.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India overnight confirmed the full list of 409 players for the auction to be held in Mumbai on February 13, which was reduced from the 1525 players nominated last month.

The 22-game tournament begins on March 4 and will go on till March 26

The dates and locations of the season have also been confirmed. The 22-game tournament will begin on March 4 and run till March 26, with games spread between Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium – two venues that hosted Australia’s T20 tour of India last December.

The auction is scheduled to start at 2.30 pm Indian Standard Time, 11 am for the Australian team – in the middle of that training session – and 8 pm AEDT.

Two games are scheduled for the 13th World Cup, with England taking on Ireland at 3 pm local time, before South Africa takes on New Zealand at 7 pm local time.

Total of 163 foreign players

There are a total of 163 overseas players in the auction, competing for only 30 spots in the inaugural season.

The salary cap for each side is ₹12 crore (A$2.1m) for a squad of 15-18 players with a maximum of six overseas players.
