IPL, BCCI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has announced on Sunday that it has entered the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’. He got this record due to the highest attendance of spectators in the IPL 2022 final match.

The final of IPL was held at Narendra Modi Stadium :-

The final of the IPL was held at the world’s largest Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where Gujarat Titans won the title for the first time under Hardik’s captaincy. In the final match, Gujarat defeated the Rajasthan team by 7 wickets.

The above information has been given by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah through his Twitter handle. He wrote in a tweet that he is extremely happy and proud to have received the ‘Guinness Book of World Record’ for the largest attendance in a T20 match, which was attended by 101,566 people. The final match was played on 29 May 2022 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Many thanks to our fans for making this possible.

The name of Motera Stadium was changed to Narendra Modi Stadium in 2021 :-

The Motera Stadium Ahmedabad, built in 1982, was rebuilt in February 2021 and renamed after Narendra Modi. It is the largest stadium in the world. The entire season of IPL 2022 was played in Mumbai. Only the playoff matches were played in Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

Apart from the final match, an eliminator match was also played at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Ever since the inauguration of the Narendra Modi Stadium, 10 international matches have been played here in different formats. It includes a day-night Test match against England also. There is also a possibility that the final of the ODI World Cup to be held next year will also be played on this ground.
