Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will come with strong intentions in IPL 2021

Chennai Super Kings, led by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who failed to make it to the playoffs in the last season of the IPL, will enter this season with strong intentions.

The Chennai team failed to reach the playoffs for the first time in IPL history last year. they could not get the rhythm last season.

The Chennai team includes players like Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo, Ambati Rayudu, and Imran Tahir, but they have also included some new faces for this season.

Not being able to score runs in the powerplay last season and the lack of a middle-order was a major reason for Chennai’s flop performance.

Raina did not play in the IPL last year, but his return this season will strengthen the team’s batting order.

Chennai has bought England’s all-rounder Moin Ali for 7 crore and uncapped Indian player Krishnappa Gowtham for 9.25 Cr this year.

For Chennai management, some players who will play after a long time can prove to be a challenge. Raina last played in the IPL in 2019. However, he played in the recently held Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he scored 102 runs in five matches.

Dhoni has also not played cricket since the IPL last year, while the team’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has not played since his injury to Australia in January this year.

Sam Curran is the only middle-order player in the Chennai team to have played cricket consistently this year.

Sam Curran played brilliantly in the 3rd ODI against India in the recent England tour of India, he scored 95 runs in 83 balls so it’s a good sign for Chennai Super Kings
