Mumbai Indians finally got their first win of IPL 2023 on 11th April, while Delhi Capitals’ embarrassing performance continues. Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets in this thrilling match played at Arun Jaitley Stadium. Captain Rohit Sharma played a half-century in the match. He also shared half-century partnerships with Ishaan Kishan and Tilak Verma.

Tilak Varma made a half-century partnership with Rohit Sharma :-

Actually, chasing 173 runs given by Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians openers Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma got off to a great start. The first wicket fell in the form of Ishaan Kishan on the score of 33 runs. After this, captain Rohit Sharma handled the team’s innings and played a half-century innings of 65 runs in 45 balls.

After first sharing a half-century partnership with Ishaan Kishan, Rohit also completed a 50-run partnership with Tilak Verma. In this match, Tilak Verma was brought down to bat at number 3. He scored 41 runs during this period.

Tilak Verma said this in the interview :-

After the match, in a special interview, Tilak Verma made a revelation about the reason behind batting at number 3. They said,

“I keep watching every over, but I suddenly came to know that I have to play at No.3, not No.5. I am always ready to bat. It doesn’t matter to me at which number I get to bat.

Commentators asked Tilak Verma this :-

During this the commentators asked him what strategy you were following during your partnership with Rohit Sharma. So Tilak Verma said that Rohit Bhai said to play the game comfortably by taking one run at a time. This wicket was stopping. Whatever shot comes out of my run chase, I play it well. We were talking that I should rotate against Akshar and bat at the crease and against Lalit, I should give charge to Rohit.

Apart from this, he disclosed about the dressing room of Mumbai Indians. He told that there is nothing like youth or senior in our team. All the players in the team get equal respect. Then whether it is Ishaan Kishan or Rohit Sharma or Nehal Wadhera or Kieron Pollard, all remain friendly and I do not feel that anyone here is young or senior.

Tilak Verma gave update on Jofra Archer’s fitness :-

While giving an update on the fitness of bowler Jofra Archer, Tilak Verma said that maybe he can return to the team in the next match. At the moment he is much better than before.
