England players maybe miss out on playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 reschedule

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is presently looking for the selection of the right time and place to complete the remaining matches of IPL 2021. The board postponed the tournament indefinitely in the middle of the season on 4 May after the Coronavirus issue.

Now it is not clear whether the remaining part of the tournament will be completed this year or not. The BCCI has made a commitment to complete it. Meanwhile, the news is coming in the way of organizing the tournament, which may shock the BCCI. It is feared that England players will not be able to participate in the tournament in the event of a new re-event.

England cricket team director Ashley Giles has said that English players will be part of these series in view of the busy international schedule in the coming months. In such a situation, it will be difficult for many big players who are under the central contract of England to join the IPL. There are a number of players, including England’s ODI and T20I captain Eoin Morgan, vice-captain Jos Butler, all-rounder Ben Stokes fast bowler Jofra Archer, all-rounder Sam Curran and Chris Woakes, who could be out of the tournament.

Players will join England International matches

Cricket portal ESPN-Cricinfo on Monday quoted Ashley Giles as saying that English management will be a part of the cricket series in the coming months according to its Future Tour program. Giles said,

“We are planning to have England players attend England matches. Our FTP program is very full. In such a situation, if there is a tour of Pakistan and Bangladesh, then we are hoping that (England’s) players will go there. “

It is believed that the BCCI is exploring the possibility of organizing the remaining matches of the IPL at the end of September or immediately after the T20 World Cup in late November. At the same time, the English team has to go to Bangladesh for the ODI and T20 series in the month of September.

After this, there is a tour of Pakistan just before the World Cup in October, which is very special in many ways. After the World Cup, the English team will go to Australia for the Ashes series.

New Zealand series was concessive, but difficult ahead

The English board had earlier allowed players to be part of the entire IPL. Due to this, players were exempted from the T20 series against New Zealand starting on 2 June. According to Giles, the New Zealand series was added at the last minute, while the players’ contracts were already signed. Giles made it clear by indicating the unavailability of the players that the team’s schedule is very busy after the home series against New Zealand and at the same time the board wants to take care of their players so that they do not get too much mental and physical exhaustion. These are obviously not good signs for the BCCI.
