Good news for RR Mustafizur gets approval to play IPL 2021

Bangladesh left-arm fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman will be awarded a No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Bangladesh Cricket Board to play in the Indian Cricket Premier IPL 2021 starting next month.

Mustafizur Rahman was bought by Rajasthan Royals at a base price of Rs 1 crore. BCB Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin confirmed the incident saying that it is okay for Mustafizur to play in this tournament as he is not included in his Test plan for the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka next month.

BCB Chief Selector Minhajul Abedin said, “We have given Mustafizur a NOC to play in the IPL as he is not part of our two Test matches plans against Sri Lanka. So it would be better for him to play in the IPL and get some experience.” .

Mustafizur recently said of his plans to play in the IPL “My first priority will be to play for my country. If I am selected for the Test series against Sri Lanka I will definitely play and if I don’t If selected then I will play in the IPL.

Shakib had accused BCB President Najmul Hasan of misinterpreting him by the National Board by making a statement to prioritize the IPL rather than the upcoming Test series in Sri Lanka. Najmul Hasan then convened an informal meeting at his residence, asking Shakib to reconsider the NOC.

Akram Khan, president of the cricket operations of BCB, said that when he was traveling to Sri Lanka to play the Test series, it was clear that Shakib was not keen on participating in Test matches, instead, he wanted to play in the IPL.
