Despite Punjab Kings’ result ending on the wrong side. The second-fastest batsman enjoyed a personal milestone when he became the second-fastest batsman to reach 3,000 runs in the IPL and the fastest Indian to do so.

Rahul is second on the list after Chris Gayle, who achieved the feat in 75 innings. He was at number 18 in the list of batsmen who scored more than 3000 runs in IPL. Rahul played brilliant innings of 49 runs in 33 balls.

David Warner of Sunrisers Hyderabad completed the same number of runs in 94 innings. While Suresh Raina of Chennai Super Kings completed 3,000 IPL runs in 103 innings.

It was during Chetan Sakariya’s second over when Rahul hit two consecutive sixes and crossed the 3,000-run landmark. Rahul was lucky to drop himself thrice before being taken into the street by Karthik Tyagi in the fourth attempt.

However, a strong start from Rahul and Mayank failed to propel PBKS ahead of the target of 186 runs set by Rajasthan Royals as they fell short by just 2 runs.
