At the same time, the lowest score has been made on this pitch in the matches played so far, which the teams have to struggle a lot to win.
But there is good news that this pitch will be rebuilt by the Indian Cricket Board BCCI.
It was made in haste keeping in view of the IPL but the nature of the pitch did not change at all.
Along with this, there is also the World Cup this year and some matches of the World Cup will also be played at this stadium in Lucknow.
In such a situation, the BCCI can now do the work of preparing this pitch afresh. It is being said that work on this pitch will start after the IPL.
The UPCA spent money on the Pitch:-
A BCCI source told Times of India that the Indian cricket board had sent a panel of pitch curators to Lucknow.
They decided to repair the pitch in a limited time and grow grass but the matter backfired and the pitch was not even fully ready.
The source further added that the curators of the BCCI had told the UPCA that the pitch needs to be renovated. For this, the contract was awarded in the first week of February itself.
During this the monitoring and supervision of the pitch was not done properly:-
After planting the grass, it has taken up to 6 months for the pitch to settle. But during this time the monitoring and supervision of the pitch was not done properly. UPCA patched it like water but the pitch could not be fixed.
After this, according to the source, Lucknow has also been selected to host the ODI World Cup matches in October-November.
Perhaps this is the reason why BCCI will have to renovate the Lucknow pitch as soon as possible. But now after the IPL, it has become important for the board to prepare this wicket afresh in the off-season.
