The highly anticipated clash between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders in Guwahati got called off due to a downpour.

This situation might sound familiar to some fans. Way back in 2012, a similar thing happened! A match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings also got canceled due to rain after the toss.

Most Rain-Affected Season Ever?

Looks like this season might hold the record for the most rain-affected IPL. With this latest cancellation, there have been a total of 3 washed-out matches in 2024. Previously, 2009 and 2011 saw 2 matches cancelled each due to rain.

This rainout is a big blow for Rajasthan Royals. Stuck at 17 points and the third position, they miss out on a chance to play Qualifier 1.
