The remaining matches of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 may be held in England
Since the 14th season of IPL has been postponed, everyone is excited enough to know when it will be put forward now. In such a situation, the news is coming that this popular tournament may be held in England. There are reports of an offer from English County to conduct the remaining 31 matches of IPL.
Significantly, the new season of IPL being played in India was postponed after 29 matches. The decision was taken by the BCCI at the Emergency Meeting of the IPL Governing Council on Tuesday, May 4. In fact, the remaining matches of the IPL were postponed by the board indefinitely after the players found corona positive inside the team bubble.
According to a report, a group of English counties has shown interest in hosting the remaining seasons of IPL 2021 in September this year. According to ESPNcricinfo’s report, MCC, Surrey, Warwickshire, and Lanarkshire have sent a letter to the England Cricket Board (ECB). In this letter, a plan has been sent to hold the remaining matches in the second week of September this year.
It is understood that if the offer is accepted, the home of Emirates’ Old Trafford (in Manchester), Lancashire, can be used for the tournament, although Lancashire has clarified that they were aware of the letter He was not a signatory. At the same time, it is being said that UAE pitches will remain fresh for the T20 World Cup by organizing the IPL in England. If the T20 World Cup is not organized in India due to Covid-19, then it can be organized in the UAE and it will be a very good move.
The Indian team will also go on a tour of England this year. Between August and September, Team India will play 5 Test matches against England at its home. In such a situation, speculations are being made that after this the Indian team will have time before the ICC World Cup and during that time the remaining matches of IPL can be organized.
