IPL 2021 Suspended for now due to immediate covid effect

IPL 2021 has been suspended amidst increasing cases of coronavirus infection. It is noteworthy that players are being found Covid infected every day.

Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rajiv Shukla said that IPL 2021 has been postponed for the time being.

League chairman Brijesh Patel said that the tournament has been suspended indefinitely. We will try to organize this competition at the next available time but this month is not likely.

It is noteworthy that on Tuesday, Sunrisers Hyderabad wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha has been found positive in the Covid-19 Test. Earlier, Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were also found positive.

The match on Monday between KKR and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was postponed. The match was scheduled to be held on some other date, the date of which was yet to be announced.
