Men’s FTP: England, India, Australia to play most International Cricket council Tests in 2023-27 cycle

The International Cricket Council on Wednesday released the Men’s Future Tours schedule for the 2023-2027 cycle, which includes a total of 777 international Cricket Council matches – 173 Tests, 281 ODIs and 323 T20Is – which will also be part of the ICC’s events. Bilateral and tri-nation series.

As previously reported by Cricbuzz, the Border-Gavaskar series between India and Australia will see an increase in the number of Tests in each series from four to five. The last time the two sides met in a five-match Test series was in 1992. England, Australia and India will play the most Test matches during the cycle, 22, 21 and 20 respectively.

India’s cycle begins next July with a tour of the West Indies (2 Tests, 3 ODIs, 2 T20Is). In December 2023, they go on a full tour of South Africa. India to host England for five Tests in January 2024.They play Australia in an away series from November to January 2025 of that year, in England in a series starting June 2025 and then at home against Australia in January–February 2027

FTP includes two rounds of ICC World Test Championship

The FTP consists of two cycles of the ICC World Test Championship, in addition to the four major ICC events, starting with next year’s 50-over World Cup in India.

India and Sri Lanka will jointly host the T20 World Cup in 2026 in the 50-over World Cup in 2027

Pakistan will play 27 Tests, 47 ODIs and 56 T20Is over a four-year period, host Australia, Afghanistan, Ireland and Zimbabwe, besides the 2023 Asia Cup and a tri-nation series including South Africa.

New Zealand. Hosted by PCB since 2004-05.

In the 2023–24 season, Afghanistan has to play 6 Tests – 3 at home (2 vs Zimbabwe and 1 vs Ireland) and 3 away (2 vs Bangladesh and 1 vs Sri Lanka).

Ireland, on the other hand, will play only 14 Tests in the next cycle against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe, 3 against Bangladesh and 1-1 against Sri Lanka, England and New Zealand.
