New Zealand cricketer Colin de Grandhomme retires, explains the reason

Colin de Grandhomme: New Zealand all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme has announced his retirement from international cricket. Colin de Grandhomme will no longer be seen playing international cricket.

He has said goodbye to international cricket with immediate effect. He also explained the reason behind his retirement. Colin DeGrandholm said that he is retiring due to injury and increasing competition in the national team across all three formats.

Grandhomme told the reason for taking his retirement :-

According to a press release issued by New Zealand Cricket, he said, “I accept that I am not getting older and training is getting harder, especially with injuries.

I also have a growing family and I am trying to understand what my future looks like after cricket. All this has been going on in my mind for the past few weeks.”

Colin Grandhomme, “I have been lucky to have the opportunity to play for the Black Caps” :-

Colin de Grandhomme continued, “I have been fortunate enough to play for the Black Caps since I made my debut in 2012 and I am proud of my international career, but I think it will be the finish line.” It is the right time to (retire). I have loved being a part of this team over the past decade and am grateful for the experiences we have shared together.”

Here is Grandhomme’s international career :-

Colin de Grandhomme made his international debut in 2012 in a T20 International against Zimbabwe in Auckland. At the same time, he last took the field for New Zealand in the Lord’s Test against England in June this year.

Apart from 49 wickets in 29 Test matches, he has scored two centuries and eight half-centuries. In 45 One Day Internationals, he has taken 30 wickets and scored 742 runs. He has played 41 matches in T20I cricket and along with taking 12 wickets, he has scored 503 runs, which includes 3 half-centuries.
