Patidar Ton leads India in strong batting performance

The first two four-day matches between India A and New Zealand A ended in a draw, giving the hosts an excellent chance to win the series 1-0 on the third day after a brilliant performance with the bat at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Chasing 416 for victory, New Zealand went 20/1 at stumps on Saturday (September 17).

Rajat Patidar, instrumental in Madhya Pradesh’s Ranji Trophy title win a few months back, extended his stellar form as he scored his second three-figure score against New Zealand A in the series.

India A started the day

India A started the day at 40/1, with Gaikwad and Panchal resuming their partnership. There were two more century partnerships – 102 between Gaikwad and Patidar, and 108 between Patidar and Sarfaraz – as New Zealand left A’s bowlers.

India A’s scoring rate of 4.22 ensured that the visitors felt the pressure throughout the innings, with Rachin Ravindra’s late strike providing only a minor consolation. Ravindra, who opened the innings, Saurabh Kumar trapped New Zealand A to bat ahead of the stumps in 14 overs.
