Mohammed Siraj has claimed that being number 1 in the ICC ODI bowler rankings does not mean anything to him. Rather, his aim is to win the World Cup 2023 title for India. In the current ICC World Cup 2023, Siraj achieved the number one position on the basis of his strong performance. In eight matches, he has taken 10 wickets with an impressive economy rate of 5.23.

Mohammed Siraj said this:-

Speaking to ICC, Siraj said, “To be honest, for some time in between I was number-1, then I went down. The number does not matter to me. The goal is that India wins the World Cup. This is the team and That’s my goal.”

Siraj,”I just want to perform well for the team” :-

Siraj further said, I hope that my performance will be good for India. That’s all that matters. I feel very proud to be a part of this team and to perform like this in the World Cup. I am happy to be with this team and I just want this team to perform well in every match.

Siraj had a strong performance against New Zealand and Sri Lanka :-

Let us tell you that earlier this year, Siraj had also performed amazingly in the ODI series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Due to this, he got the top position in the ICC bowling rankings. He took nine wickets against Sri Lanka and was the leading wicket-taker in the three-match series. He took 4 wickets in the opening match of the series against New Zealand.
