ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Australia’s Adam Zampa Defeated SL With Amazing Bowling And Recorded Its First Win By 5 Wickets. Australia has registered its first win in the ICC World Cup by defeating Sri Lanka by 5 wickets.

Josh Inglis’s Innings Of 58 Runs Cost Him Dearly:-

In the Australia vs Sri Lanka match played at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, Sri Lankan openers Pathum Nissanka (61) and Kusal Perera (78) played half-centuries, but Mitchell’s 52 and Josh Inglis’s innings of 58 overshadowed them.

Australian spinner Adam Zampa showed amazing bowling and sent 4 batsmen to the pavilion. Kusal Mendis, Samarawickrama, Karunaratne, and Tikshina were dismissed. Apart from this, fast bowlers Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins took 2-2 wickets. Whereas, Glenn Maxwell took 1 wicket.

Chasing Sri Lanka’s target, Australia easily won by scoring 215 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 35.2 overs.

English scored 58 runs in 59 balls by hitting 5 fours and 1 six:-

Meanwhile, opening batsman Mitchell Marsh scored a half-century of 52 runs in 51 balls with the help of 9 fours. Whereas, the second opener David Warner was out on 11 runs only. Middle-order batsman Josh Inglis scored 58 runs in 59 balls by hitting 5 fours and 1 six.

Whereas, the batsman who came before him, Marnus Labuschagne, played an economical inning of 40 runs by hitting 2 fours in 60 balls. Apart from this, Maxwell scored 31 runs in 21 balls and Marcus Stoinis scored 20 runs in 10 balls.

Dilsan Madhushanka took a maximum of 3 wickets for Sri Lanka. In this match, he dismissed David Warner and Steve Smith LBW in one over. Apart from this, only Dimuth Velalage could take 1 wicket. He also gave away a maximum of 53 runs.
