ENG vs BAN Dharamshala Stadium Outfield: The outfield of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium was extensively inspected during the first match played between Bangladesh and Afghanistan. England will face Bangladesh at the same venue on Tuesday. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has rated the Dharamsala outfield as ‘average’ and has given it the green signal for the England-Bangladesh match.

Senior journalist Matt Roller attended England’s pre-match conference before the game. Roller also shared a photo of the condition of the Dharamshala surface. Seeing the latest post, the fans got upset and started pointing fingers at BCCI Secretary Jay Shah.

Buttler- The outfield is not as good as it should be

On the Dharamshala outfield, Jos Buttler said, the outfield is not as good as it should be. Not being asked to dive in and do it all is not what you want to do as a team. But it is the same for both parties, however, we will not use this as an excuse. Just need to be careful.”

Dharamshala: HPCA failed to prepare a playable outfield in time for the game

The outfield was flooded after the game on Saturday and again on Sunday, with less than 48 hours left for the next World Cup game at the venue. Earlier this year, the third India-Australia Test was also shifted from Dharamshala to Indore after the HPCA failed to prepare a playable outfield in time for the game.

“The ICC’s independent pitch consultant has viewed the outfield and is comfortable with the conditions; Javagal Srinath is the match referee for the next game,” an ICC spokesperson said.
