ENG vs SL: The 25th match of the World Cup 2023 was played between England and Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka defeated England by 8 wickets. Like in World Cup history, India has defeated Pakistan 8-0. England has not been able to overcome Sri Lanka.

After winning the toss, England batted first and scored 156 runs in 33.2 overs. Ben Stokes played the highest innings of 43 runs. For Sri Lanka, Lahiru Kumara took three wickets, Angelo Mathews and Rajitha took two wickets each. At the same time, Sri Lanka achieved the target by scoring 160 runs in 25.4 overs after losing two wickets.

This is Sri Lanka’s fifth consecutive win against England in World Cup history. England has not been able to win against Sri Lanka in the World Cup since 2007. In the last five World Cups, Sri Lanka is leading England 5-0. Apart from this, England has suffered its third consecutive defeat in this World Cup. This is the first time since 1996 that England has lost three consecutive matches in the World Cup.
