ICC ODI WC 2023: Sri Lanka sacks entire cricket board after a crushing defeat by India. Just a few days after the crushing defeat by India in the World Cup 2023, Sri Lanka has dismissed the entire cricket board.
He Has Also Blamed The Board:-
The Sports Minister of Sri Lanka recently took this decision. Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe criticized the board in a statement on Friday. He has also blamed the board.

In the recent match in the World Cup, India defeated Sri Lanka by a huge margin of 302 runs. Resignations were demanded from the Sri Lanka Cricket Board led by Shammi Silva after facing consecutive big defeats against India in the World Cup after the Asia Cup. Demonstrations were also held outside the board’s office.
In such a situation, security had to be deployed outside the Board’s Headquarters. Amidst this cricket crisis, Sri Lankan Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has taken strict steps.
He appointed an Interim Committee of seven members. Its president was former World Cup-winning captain Arjuna Ranatunga. This decision to dismiss the board was taking under the authority of Sports Law No. 25 of 1973.
New Committee Of Sri Lanka Cricket:-
A new committee has been formed for Sri Lankan cricket. This committee not only includes personalities related to cricket but also three retired judges, two of whom are women. Apart from Arjuna Ranatunga, former Sri Lanka Cricket Board President Upali Dharmadasa is also a part of the committee.
This is not the first time that Arjuna Ranatunga is leading the Interim Committee for Sri Lanka Cricket. He played a similar role in the year 2008 also.
He Has Been Clearly Critical Of The Sri Lanka Cricket Board:-
At present, he has been clearly critical of the Sri Lanka Cricket Board. On the other hand, Shammi Silva, who has been serving as the board chief since May, his tenure was to last till 2025.

The purpose of the Sri Lankan government’s intervention is saying to be to bring stability and a new approach in Sri Lankan cricket. The work of this committee will be to prepare a new path for sports in the country.
