ICC ODI World Cup 2023: Nitin Memon And Kumar Dharmasena Will Be The Umpires in The First Match Of ODI WC 2023. The 13th edition of the ICC ODI World Cup is going to start on October 5.

The first match will be between England and New Zealand

The first match at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad will be between England and New Zealand, who were the finalists of the last World Cup.

ICC announced the onfield umpire for the opening match of the World Cup. Nitin Menon and Kumar Dharmasena will be the umpires in this match, while the TV umpire will be Paul Wilson and the fourth umpire will be Shaheed Saikat. Javagal Srinath will be the match referee.

Kumar Dharmasena created history by umpiring in the World Cup in 2015. He became the first person to both play as a player and umpire in the ODI World Cup.

Nitin Menon is going to umpire in the ODI World Cup for the first time. Shahid will become the first person from Bangladesh who will be seen umpiring in the World Cup.

The ICC announced the tournament’s official composition of 20 members a month before the start of the tournament. There are 16 umpires and 4 match referees. 12 out of 16 umpires are from the ICC Elite Panel.

The 14 Returning Umpires From ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022:-

Six of the 16 umpires will be officiating in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup for the first time. There are also 14 returning umpires from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, including only Shahid and Alex Wharfe who did not officiate in Australia.

Along with Dharmasena, there are Marais Erasmus and Richard Kettleborough who took charge of the 2019 and 2015 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup finals respectively.

Nitin Menon is the youngest in the list of umpires included for the World Cup 2023. He is going to umpire in the ODI World Cup for the first time.

Along with him, Chris Gaffani, Michael Gough, Paul Raffaele, Richard Illingworth, and Joel Wilson also have their first ODI World Cup as umpires.
