ICC ODI WC 2023: The Big decision of Delhi High Court regarding unauthorized streaming of World Cup. The Delhi High Court has restrained online platforms from unauthorized broadcasting and streaming of the upcoming ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023.

The Court Bans Unauthorized Streaming And Broadcasting:-

The court has banned unauthorized streaming and broadcasting after Star India Pvt Ltd and Novi Digital Entertainment Pvt Ltd, which operate the Disney+ Hotstar platform, were sued.

The plaintiffs said they have exclusive global media rights, including television and digital rights to multiple ICC events such as the World Cup, which is scheduled to be played from October 5 to November 19.

He said that being one of the most popular sporting events in the world, there could be unauthorized dissemination of World Cup content by a large number of websites.

The World Cup Cricket Matches Are Very Popular:-

Justice Pratibha M Singh said “No doubt World Cup cricket matches were extremely popular, especially in the Indian subcontinent, and rogue websites. Which have been involved in piracy in the past too, were very likely to continue authorized streaming.”

At the same time, the Delhi High Court has banned unauthorized streaming. And broadcast of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

“Thus, any rogue websites are requiring to be restrained from broadcasting and communicating to the public any part of the cricket match events without the permission or license of the plaintiff party.” the court said in a recent order.

If someone does unauthorized streaming after the court order, then direct action can be taken against him.

The World Cup Will Start With The England vs New Zealand Match:-

The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is scheduling to begin from October 5 between England vs New Zealand. The last match of the World Cup will be playing on 19 November. The great match between India vs Pakistan is to be playing in Ahmedabad on 14 October.
