Azhar Mahmood Takes the Helm
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) surprised everyone by appointing former fast bowler Azhar Mahmood as their new head coach.

Mahmood isn’t a new face – he’s a Pakistani cricket legend with a whopping 164 international matches under his belt. He even managed to grab 162 wickets and score a cool 2421 runs during his playing days!
Wait, there’s a twist!
Here’s the interesting part: Azhar isn’t the permanent head coach – at least not yet. He’s only been appointed for the upcoming 5-match T20 series against New Zealand, starting April 18th!
So, what happens after the New Zealand tour?
This is where things get murky. The PCB says they’ll be searching for a permanent head coach after the T20 World Cup.
But some cricket fans have a different idea. They believe Azhar’s experience and leadership qualities make him the perfect candidate for the long haul.
