PAK T20 WC 2022: Fakhar Zaman has been included in the WC squad in Replace of injured Usman Qadir. Zaman, who was earlier named in the list of reserves, has been included in Pakistan’s 15 squad for the T20 World Cup.
Failed to recover from a hairline fracture:-
Meanwhile, Usman Qadir, after failing to recover from a hairline fracture on his right thumb, is now one of three travel reserves along with Mohammad Haris and Shahnawaz Dahani.

Both Fakhar and Shaheen Shah Afridi were undergoing treatment and rehabilitation for knee injuries in London. As reported by ESPNcricinfo on Tuesday, the two will join the World Cup squad in Brisbane on Saturday.
Pakistan will be available for practice games, against England on 17 October and against Afghanistan on 19 October. According to a PCB release, the team management will assess Fakhar’s fitness during those games.
The Tri-Nation Series in New Zealand:-
Fakhar was originally dropping from the squad due to poor form and injury, with an uncapped Shan Masood finding him for the home T20Is against England, the tri-nation series in New Zealand, and the World Cup.
Qadir’s selection for the World Cup squad raised eyebrows as the legspinner had played only one match in the Asia Cup and the match time was limiting before that.
In three T20Is against England, before getting injured, he had figures of 2 for 36, 0 for 41, and 2 for 48.
The only frontline spinner in Pakistan’s team of 15:-
Their injury means that Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz are now the only frontline spinners in Pakistan’s squad of 15, with Iftikhar Ahmed able to play with his off-spin when requiring.
