Hasin Jahan, wife of Indian cricket team player Mohammed Shami, approached the Supreme Court on Tuesday against the order of the Calcutta High Court. The High Court had dismissed his plea to stay the arrest warrant against Shami issued by a local court.

Shami’s wife has challenged the order of 28 March 2023 of the Calcutta High Court
She has challenged the order of the Calcutta High Court dated March 28, 2023. These rejected her prayer to set aside the order of the Sessions Court. A sessions court in West Bengal had stayed the arrest warrant issued against Shami.
She also alleged that Shami continued to engage in illicit extramarital sex with prostitutes
Hasan Jahan has moved the Supreme Court through her counsel Deepak Prakash, Advocate-on-Record, Nachiketa Bajpai, and Divyangana Malik Bajpai, Advocate. It alleged that Shami used to demand dowry from her, she also alleged that Shami continued to engage in illicit extramarital sex with prostitutes in BCCI-provided hotel rooms during the tours, even to this day.

Shami was issued an arrest warrant on 9 September 2019 and the entire proceedings of the criminal trial were stayed
According to the petition, on August 29, 2019, an arrest warrant was issued against Shami by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Alipore. Mohammed Shami challenged the said order before the Sessions Court. On 9 September 2019 stayed the arrest warrant and the entire proceedings of the criminal trial.
As a result, Shami’s wife moved to the High Court of Calcutta but failed to get any order in her favor
