Speaking to The Indian Express in an interview, Kohli highlighted the importance of paying attention to mental health and the former Indian captain has given tips for young athletes.

Virat Kohli, “Being under constant pressure has a negative effect on mental health” :-

Kohli said, “For an athlete, sport can bring out the best out of you as a sportsperson but at the same time the pressure you are constantly under can negatively affect your mental health. This is definitely a serious issue and as much as we try to be strong all the time, it can break you.

My suggestion to athletes would be that yes, the focus on physical fitness and recovery is one of the hallmarks of being a good athlete, but at the same time it is important that you stay in touch with yourself constantly.

Virat Kohli, “I have personally experienced such times” :-

Kohli added, “I have personally experienced a time when I felt lonely even in a room full of people who supported and loved me and I am sure it is a feeling that has left many people behind. People can connect. So, take time for yourself and reconnect with yourself.

If you lose that connection, it won’t take long for other things to crumble around you. You have to learn to vary your time so that there is balance.
