Captain Ben Stokes confirmed:-

The Three Lions won the first Test at Mount Maunganui by 267 runs – their first Test win in the country since 2008 – and captain Ben Stokes has confirmed he will line up with the same XI as they look to take a 2-0 series lead want to complete.

“I think we’ll just want to play the kind of cricket we’ve been playing for the last 10-12 months and if New Zealand are better than us this week, we’ll be able to say that.”

New Zealand captain Tim Southee says his team will be relieved to return to red-ball cricket this week after England completely strategized in the pink-ball match at the Bay Oval.

The fast bowler said New Zealand were unlikely to try to emulate England’s attacking style of play in the second and final Test in Wellington.

“You have to look at your side and try to work with what you’ve got,” he told reporters.

“It works for England because of the makeup of their side but it’s about us finding a way that works for us.
