ENGW will tour WIW from December 4 for three ODIs and five T20Is. Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the schedule of a women’s tour of the Caribbean islands of England in December.

Women’s tour schedule from December 11 to December 22:-

The ODIs will be played from December 4 to 9 at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua. The tour will also include five T20Is that will be played from December 11 to December 22.

The three ODIs will be part of the ICC Women’s Championship for the 2022–2025 cycle. After losing 3-0 against India at home, England is yet to win a single match in the championship.

West Indies, on the other hand, have two points from three matches after losing the home series 2-1 against New Zealand.

The Four matches were played at Kensington Oval in Barbados:-

After the ODIs, the teams will also fight in five T20Is which will help the sides prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup which is scheduling to be played in South Africa in February 2023.

The first T20I will be playing at the same venue after the ODI. While the other four matches of the series will be played at Kensington Oval in Barbados.

England is currently without a head coach following Lisa Keightley’s decision to step down at the end of the India series.

This tour will be used for T20 World Cup 2023:-

England women’s director of cricket Jonathan Finch said the new coach would join the board ahead of the tour and England would like to get some wins in the ICC Women’s Championship. They would also like to use the tour as a preparation for the T20 World Cup 2023.

“It’s always been a great place to look and with a new head coach coming soon, it’s the start of a new cycle for this team,” Finch said.

“The West Indies series sees our first overseas round of the ICC Women’s Championship and it is important that we get some points on the board.

The tour also plays an important role in preparations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup to be holding early next year.
