IND vs SL ODI: Rohit Sharma Press Conference- Rohit Sharma told in the Press Conference that Jasprit Bumrah has once again started feeling stiffness in his back. Bumrah has already been ruled out of the ODI series against Sri Lanka. But according to informed sources, he will not even play the series against New Zealand. Both the BCCI and skipper Rohit Sharma have admitted that Jaspreet has again complained of a sore back during two consecutive practice sessions at the NCA.

IND vs SL ODI: Bumrah in NCA

• The plan was for Bumrah to undergo a match-simulation workload at the NCA before making his international comeback.
• He passed the fitness test in Bangalore.
• When he practiced for two consecutive days in Mumbai, he felt back stiffness again.
• jaspreet is now set to rest before joining India’s preparatory camp for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, starting February 1.
• According to the report, he will not be able to play in the ODI and T20 series against New Zealand starting January 18.

Why was Bumrah out?

The BCCI had earlier said that Bumrah was included in the ODIs on the recommendation of the Indian selection committee. “The All-India Senior Selection Committee has included fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming MasterCard 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka,” the BCCI said in a media release on January 3.

The BCCI confirmed Bumrah’s unavailability but said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure.
